The video game event E3 will unveil the new Star
Wars games to the public. Chris Pereira at
gamespot.com
is reporting that we fans will finally learn more about the highly anticipated
Star Wars game.
For so long us gamers have had very little
information on the new game. Like the Disney created movies, there is very
little information about these forms of media while they are in production.
After the Disney Star Wars Celebration, the only information about the new
video games was the trailer. Hopefully, we will get a lot of our questions
answered.
Respawn Entertainment has been given the task of creating the new Star Wars game. Respawn is the same game development company that created Titanfall and Apex legends. Publisher Electronic Arts will showcase the game in June 8-9 at E3 2019.
The game is story based and goes as followed:
Having survived the dreaded order 66, Cal Kestis the young Jedi Padawan becomes
a fugitive and is continuously hunted my Emperor Palpatine’s evil sith
Inquisitors. Young Cal Kestis is hell-bent on completing his Jedi training and
reestablishing the fallen Jedi Order.
Disney’s business strategy of setting the game's
story in the George Lucas prequel era is not a coincidence. After having a
divided fanbase since the release of Star Wars: The
Last Jedi (2017), Disney is playing it safe in order to close the
gap between the fanbase.
Both Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince
Zampella and the game’s director Stig Asmussen talked about a concept they call
“thoughtful
combat”. Their ideas emphasize that this game is not a
button-masher. Players will utilize melee lightsaber combat combined with the
main character’s force sensitive abilities as the core of the character’s
fighting style. The game creators also emphasized that outmaneuvering your
opponents will also be apart of the player's strategy for defeating opponents.
Another concept that was talked about by the
game's creators is the ability for the main character's lightsaber crystal to
evolve and grow over the course of the game. This concept is not necessarily
new to Star Wars games, but an expected in-game ability Star Wars video game
fans are familiar with.
E3’s schedule for the game is for the first slot
on June 8, at 9:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM BST (2:30 AM AET on June 9).
So far Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order's release date is November 15, 2019. The
platforms for the game are on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can pre-order the game
now.
