Directed by John Crowley Based on Colm Tóibín's Best-Selling novel Brooklyn, young Irish immigrant Eilis Lace (Saoirse Ronan) lands in the 1950s Brooklyn after her older sister, who see potential for Eilis to have a better life, make arrangements for her to stay at a boarding school in New York through acceptance of a priest.

Eilis now has to wonder what exactly does she do with her life. Being so far away from home and the first time on her own, Eilis becomes homesick.

With just a few weeks living in Brooklyn she falls for a friendly Italian-American fellow named Tony (Emory Cohen). But soon tragedy strikes and she finds herself having to decide if she should stay in Brooklyn or live back home in Ireland.



Brooklyn brings in Lovely mid-century America’s charm along with fine acting from the cast. Saoirse Ronan absolutely amazes as Eilis.

Both emotional and endearing, this striking picturesque was beautifully presented. Undoubtedly one of the best movies of 2015. A must see.
