Tommy Sotomayor Vs. TheAmazingAtheist: The DMCA Saga

For the past few weeks, things between the two YouTube mega stars have been getting more intense. Ever since Tommy Sotomayor of the hit show TNNnewsRaw filed a DMCA take-down notice on one of TheDrunkenPeasants podcasts videos on YouTube, the vitriol between both fan bases has been a climactic one.

Tommy Sotomayor, (Mr. Madness, TNN News, ect.) is a tremendously controversial figure in the YouTube community, regularly uploading comedic videos clowning Hood Rats. His most popular channel, MrMadness Sotomayor, has over 185,170 subscribers, spanning more than 1000 videos on this channel alone.

TheAmazingAtheist, (T.J. Kirk, TheDistressedWatcher, ect.) was named by WatchMojo.com as one of the top 3 most controversial YouTubers, with over 1,070 videos laying waste to feminism and most notably, Christian fundamentalism. His most popular channel has well over 800,000 subscribers, and the Drunken Peasants youtube Channel he regularly hosts, has over 130,000 subscribers.

The feud between Tommy and TheDrunkenPeasants began as early as December of 2015, when TheDrunkenPeasants stumbled across one of Tommy's videos, wherein he makes derogatory remarks about a trans-gendered woman who committed suicide. Sarcastic Jokes abound, and at one point, The Amazing Atheist throws a “he fucks a watermelon” joke in there somewhere.

Tommy responds in the following video, in which he accuses the show's hosts; TheAmazingAtheist in particular; of being racists.

Wasn't long before TJ responded with a video of his own, claiming that his joke wasn't racially charged at all, and that Tommy was a hypocrite due to his liberal use of the word "White boy", while simultaneously playing the race card.

A video response war ensues, until, eventually, the two squash beef in December of 2015, and go about their business. Unfortunately for DP, this isn't where the story ends.

In mid March of 2016, a DMCA claim was made on yet another of DP's podcasts involving Tommy Sotomayor's videos by Tommy himself, which sparked an internet war that put fans of both channels in a frenzy.

This DMCA strike on TheDrunkenPeasant's channel comes on the heels of an enormous controversy involving Youtube's Severely broken Copyright protection system, sparking Twitter trends like #FreeIHE and #WTFU (Where's the Fair Use?) hashtags that have been trending for months now, leading many to question the reality of the beef itself, leaving some YouTube users to question if the feud isn't a publicity stunt of sorts, much like the rivalries of Pro Wrestling.

When TJ attempted to extend an olive branch by debating Tommy on his podcast, Tommy refused to allow TJ to call into the show, instead, opting to make bogus excuses as to why he didn't trust him. Both TJ and Tommy were scheduled to debate on Friday (March, 19th, 2016) but Tommy was mysteriously out of town for no reason, leading many to question Tommy's integrity in the matter.

No word yet as to when a formal debate will take place.
